About the Show

A

Aileen Summers

English narrator

Aileen is the voice, writer and creator behind The World Cup Files. She spent months buried in books, old match footage and dusty archives to bring you the wildest, funniest and most jaw-dropping stories from every World Cup ever played. She believes the best way to learn about history is through stories that make you say 'No way, that actually happened?!' — and that's exactly what she does. When she's not recording, she's probably arguing about who the real GOAT is. (It's Pelé. Obviously.)

P

Patricio Apostolo

Spanish narrator

Patricio is the Spanish voice of The World Cup Files. He brings every tournament to life for millions of Spanish-speaking fans across the Americas and Spain. His narration style is warm, confident and full of the kind of energy that makes you feel like you're watching the match unfold right in front of you. He receives every episode as a studio-ready package — complete with pronunciation guides, breath marks and chapter cue sheets — because getting the details right matters.

About the series

OK so imagine this: every single World Cup ever played — from 1930 all the way to 2022 — turned into stories so wild, so dramatic and so completely unbelievable that you'll want to tell your mates about them at school the next day.

That's The World Cup Files. Twenty-two episodes (with number twenty-three coming when the 2026 World Cup kicks off!). Each one opens a "file" on one tournament and takes you through the heroes, the villains, the controversy and the goals that changed everything. A one-armed player scoring in the first ever final. A goalkeeper blamed by an entire country for fifty years. A player who literally died on the pitch — and then got back up and kept playing.

These stories are all true. Every. Single. One.

And here's the cool part: you can listen in English or Spanish. Same stories, two languages, two narrators — Aileen and Patricio. No AI voices, no shortcuts. Just two real humans who love football and love telling stories.

Whether you're eight or eighty, whether you support Argentina or England or a team that's never even qualified — there's a World Cup story in here that will blow your mind. Grab your headphones and pick a file. Any file. We promise you won't be bored.
